this month’s design: april hues

April 12, 2011

It’s been a while since I posted a new design, and it’s about time! A big part of why I started this blog was to share my love of design (not only my design work, but also of other designers who inspire me), so expect to see more design related posts in the future.  About the pattern: I love doing different layers in a pattern to add more dimension, I did it  here using colour and opacity. hope you like!

this month’s design + exciting announcement!!

December 14, 2010

This is another old pattern of mine, my apologies! BUT the good news is my design website [www.danielledengerink.com] is getting very close to completion! I did this pattern for my popular culture class in my 4th year at OCAD. We had to do a piece, in any medium, on one of the books we read in class, and I chose Valley of the Dolls by Jacqueline Susann. The book is basically the first Sex and the City, except with a lot more drugs and without the happy ending. Sounds depressing I know, but it was actually a really good book! but anyways this was my result!

ALSO:  EXCITING news!

DENJ handmade silk scarves will be available at the BICYCLETTE BOUTIQUE HOLIDAY POP-UP SALE!

this month’s design: november

November 3, 2010

Each month starting today I will be posting a new pattern design under a “this month’s design” column. I’m currently working on getting my website (www.danielledengerink.com) a much needed facelift – hopefully it will be done soon! so i want to save new designs for the big reveal. For now I’ve posted a design I did a year and a half ago for a group exhibition “We Are Collectors”  shown at Transit Space Gallery, Ontario College of Art and Design, curated by the lovely Faye Mullen.
